Site (In-Situ) Pipe Spool Survey
Capturing as-built spool geometry, instrument moves, and field control points in automet® FAB.
Overview
A site survey determines the precise spatial geometry and specification of an installed pipe spool, existing tie-in connections, and adjacent structural clearance points.
Instrument Relocation and Control Points
When surveying complex or extended pipework, multiple instrument setups may be required.
- Automated setup registration: Control points allow the total station to be relocated around the work area while automatically registering each setup into a single, unified survey dataset.
- Real-time validation: The **move function** verifies whether relative setup positions are valid and mathematically consistent in real time as you capture observations.
- Quality assurance: Alignment accuracy between instrument setups is calculated and documented within the generated quality assurance (QA) report.
