Flange Orientation and Bolt-Hole Rotation Error
Understanding reference baselines, top dead centre (T.D.C.) rules, and two-holes-square conventions in automet® FAB.

Flange Orientation Conventions

Flange orientation or bolt-hole rotation error in automet® FAB is evaluated against strict reference baselines:

  • Grid North reference: Applied when the flange centerline is within 10° of vertical.
  • Top dead centre (T.D.C.) reference: Applied as the reference baseline for all other flange orientations.
  • Zero reference alignment: Standardized to a two-holes-square configuration.
