Automet® FAB - Analysis

Analysis is performed by comparing the survey data with the design data.
The actual sizes are not shown on the graphical report, instead, vector errors show the differences between the design file data and the survey data. This cuts out the need to do this manually and is a better way to present the results quickly when there are more than two flanges on a spool.
- Black numbers show positional errors
- Gold boxes show the touch point errors
- Teal boxes show the bolt-hole rotation errors
- Red values show the errors which are out of tolerance - the tolerance can be set within the analysis setting opening up in the bottom right hand corner
If the actual sizes are required, as might be needed on a site survey, then change the design file to match the survey data and publish it as a deliverable.
The vector report can be created directly after completing the survey; just select the visual report button. If at a later stage, the user wants to create the report again, then load the survey file by selecting survey file: open for analysis and the design file should load.
The visual report option must be performed before the text report button is available. This is because the visual report option includes tools to fine tune the report data, so the visual option is performed first.
automet® FAB is capable of more than just producing a final survey report. You can use the software:
- Before welding reports (TACK WELD).
- When there is a gross error in the spool, isolating parts of the survey to determine where the error is.
- When alignment and position require balancing.
All these capabilities are part of the visual report routine. If a POST-WELD report is what you require, then the results displayed first (default results) will probably be best.
