Automet® FAB - File Types

Main File Types

There are three main file types within automet®:

• Survey - 'survey spool number.SUR'
• Design - 'design spool number.DES'
• Deliverable - 'deliverable spool number.DEL'

Sub-File Types

Survey Files

The survey file types in the system are as follows:

• Site survey - 'survey spool number IN SITU.SUR'
• Before welding - 'survey spool number TACK WELD.SUR'
• After welding - 'survey spool number POST WELD.SUR'
• Settings calculations - 'survey spool number CALCULATED.SUR'

The last sub-file type in the list with the term CALCULATED contains all the settings entered during computation. This includes thickness, which flange(s) and/or circle-fits are excluded from the analysis, disregarded lengths, and fit-preference status. When you reload this file, these variables are restored so that the report conditions match the original report. If the report is to be created from scratch, use the file without the word CALCULATED in the name, otherwise, always use the CALCULATED version of the file.

Design Files

The design file types in the system are as follows:

• Design - 'design spool number.DES'
• Rotated design - 'design spool number ROTATED.DES'

The rotated design file has been rotated using the design transform method. This process aids fabrication by orienting challenging spools into a user-friendly orientation.

Reports

The report file types in the system are as follows:

• Printable vector error graphical - 'survey spool number POST WELD.pdf'
• Printable spool inspection - 'survey spool number POST WELD TEXT.pdf'
• printable quality assurance - 'survey spool number POST WELD QA.pdf'
